That should go without saying. But people do it all the time. Now... I'm not sure this is really necessarily what this blog was intended for, but I am using sort of as a venting station. I can't believe I am so up in arms about a stupid pizza pocket but darn it! It was mine and I was hungry! It's ridiculous that you can't even leave anything to eat or drink in the staff refrigerator because you know it won't be there when you get back. It doesn't matter how much you mark it up with your name, they don't care. They still take it as if it were their own. Now, it's one thing if someone offers it like my friend, Jeremy does. But just to take it without asking?! That's wrong! I don't have enough money to be buying everyone's dinner, there! I'm lucky to afford my own! I believe I know who the culprit is, too. I already confronted him, but he's denying it. But get this! I walk onto the ward last night to start my shift... two guys from the other ward (one being the suspect) come up and walk straight to the break room. I follow them because I had just replenished my stock of pizza pockets and they weren't getting their paws on these ones. They came out laughing and I heard them talking with the rest of evening shift saying, "She put the box up there and wrote a note?!" and other things of the sort. The lady said, "Yeah. We got her calmed down." They were laughing at me. All of them. It felt like they were ganging up on me. And guess what? It was Jeremy's night off. That's ok though. I played it off. 'Til people started asking me about my pizza pockets. I told them straight! I was mad that somebody ate them! They all laughed and one guy told me my note was funny. I checked the note. Somebody wrote something on it and then it got crossed out with sharpie. OK... maybe I'm taking this too far, but I wanted to know what it said. So I tried to see through the marker and see what they wrote. I don't know exactly what it said, but it had a name (the aforementioned suspect) and "always hungry." I don't know why they have to hide it. But I was upset. And just upset at the lack of respect, you know? It just ain't right. I am still very upset. Just ain't right. So DON'T STEAL! It isn't cool. It doesn't solve problems - it causes them. And ESPECIALLY don't steal people's FOOD! That is a huge no-no in Syd's book! ;-) Love you all. Thanks for following.
and I'm feeling good
Welcome, folks, to Light of a New Day. This blog project was started back in 2010 by Jake and Sydnee. Over the years, several others have left their mark, by contributing articles, their time, and love for Christ. The blog has went through some dry spells, because - let's face it - we all have moments where posting happy thoughts isn't quite possible. For Jake and Syd both, someone shot the bird dead out of the sky. Unfortunately for them, that bird was a phoenix - and baby, it's back. What you can expect are posts. Maybe not regular, and maybe not all of them will be happy. This phoenix is an honest phoenix, life isn't perfect - and people need to stop acting and teaching like it is. This is Light of a New Day. a REAL day. If you have any thoughts or comments, would like to drop us a contribution, or would like to join our team - drop me a line at trun4rth@yahoo.com
