and I'm feeling good

Welcome, folks, to Light of a New Day. This blog project was started back in 2010 by Jake and Sydnee. Over the years, several others have left their mark, by contributing articles, their time, and love for Christ. The blog has went through some dry spells, because - let's face it - we all have moments where posting happy thoughts isn't quite possible. For Jake and Syd both, someone shot the bird dead out of the sky. Unfortunately for them, that bird was a phoenix - and baby, it's back. What you can expect are posts. Maybe not regular, and maybe not all of them will be happy. This phoenix is an honest phoenix, life isn't perfect - and people need to stop acting and teaching like it is. This is Light of a New Day. a REAL day. If you have any thoughts or comments, would like to drop us a contribution, or would like to join our team - drop me a line at trun4rth@yahoo.com

Chi Omegas Rock at Mass!

So! Ash Wednesday! Supposed to be a solemn time where we reflect and work on deepening our relationship with Christ. And again... God came through for me.

I know one girl in my sorority that is Catholic and goes to church regularly. The two of us planned on going, together. Then I go downstairs and see a note on the board that anyone that needs a ride to Ash Wednesday Mass can ride with another of my sisters. I had forgotten that she is Catholic because we go to different Masses. Then it's time to leave. Me and FOUR of my sisters went to Mass together! I was so excited! It was awesome to have that. And THEN! We get to Mass and one of the parishioners came up and said they needed 2 people for the collection and 3 for the gifts. Wow! Look! 5 Chi Os... 5 jobs! We rocked that Mass! It was so cool for all of us to be able to participate in that way together! I think it says a lot for our sorority and Greek life in general, too. Because it shows the world that fraternities and sororities are not always the stereotypical Greeks you see on TV. It was awesome. Just thought I'd share that with you. :-) Love you all! Chi O 'til I die-o. And even after that. (And a shoutout to my sister, TECite, and fellow blogger Hannah Broz!)
