and I'm feeling good

Welcome, folks, to Light of a New Day. This blog project was started back in 2010 by Jake and Sydnee. Over the years, several others have left their mark, by contributing articles, their time, and love for Christ. The blog has went through some dry spells, because - let's face it - we all have moments where posting happy thoughts isn't quite possible. For Jake and Syd both, someone shot the bird dead out of the sky. Unfortunately for them, that bird was a phoenix - and baby, it's back. What you can expect are posts. Maybe not regular, and maybe not all of them will be happy. This phoenix is an honest phoenix, life isn't perfect - and people need to stop acting and teaching like it is. This is Light of a New Day. a REAL day. If you have any thoughts or comments, would like to drop us a contribution, or would like to join our team - drop me a line at trun4rth@yahoo.com

It's because she's enough

This is usually Syd's forte, but I think It's time I posted something that isn't the blog's direction. And I'm dedicating it to you.

I just watched an amazing movie. I'm a little drunk too, so maybe an altered state of mind was required. Is it odd to say that this movie let me talk with God? Sydnee and K.W. weren't involved here. Just me, a bottle of booze, and a movie, illegally downloaded from the nets.

For the past 4 nights I have been praying like never before. For you. For something. For God to help us do the right thing. I feel like you have probably been doing the same thing. Then, today, when I'd all but given up on the thing we both know about, I decided, why not get a little drunk.

When I got home today, the movie had downloaded, and I clicked play. It either changed my life, or it changed the way I think, the way I pray, and the way I look at you. I know the reasons you have for everything, and I know the reasons I have for those things as well. What if we're wrong. What if we ignored reason, what if we just ran with our hearts. I'm not saying we throw it in God's face, I'm saying instead of having a choice made for us, what if we ran with it? Free will is ours, we have the power to take chances, and to live our life. When I stand next to you, I don't know how God could look at it as a bad thing. You make me a better person, in every aspect. I'm a better Catholic when I'm with you. I'm a better man when I'm with you, and for some reason, you don't judge me the way the others do.

So this is my addendum, if you find it, if it finds you, then let's both agree, that we should let go, and let God, because when you answered the phone that first time, his will was done. I'll never hurt you, because all I want is for you to be happy. If you being happy means you never read this, then that's what it means. I'm not begging you to reconsider. I'm only asking you to follow your heart. If friends is what we're destined to be, than it is. If you are unsure, what is the worst that could happen?

The Movie that I watched, It was called "The Adjustment Bureau"

"Most people live life on the path we set for them, too afraid to explore any other. But once in a while people like you come along and knock down all the obstacles we put in your way. People who realize free will is a gift you never know how to use until you fight for it. I think that's the Chairman's real plan - that maybe one day we won't write the plan, you will."
