The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. – Proverbs 4:18
Till the Light of a New Day, in fact :) What this means, in my take, is that God doesn't grant instant results. Pastor Dave Whitehead at GraceNYC describes it as such, we want a better life, but we don't see it. look at where you were last year, 5 years ago. See how much better we have it? Dave implies that you need to look at things from a wide perspective. While I agree with that point, I disagree with his main thought line. Some people will say, but 4 years ago, he/she was still alive. Last year I had a job. 3 Years ago I was happily married. These are all, for the most part, material things. We need to avoid taking pleasure from them. The path of the righteous is a spiritual path. It beings when we are born into Christ, through our baptism. It grows with each day we live a Christian life. Each difficulty we face is a challenge on our faith journey. After we face each challenge, we arrive on a plateau. You can sit at that plateau and wallow in despair, or continue on your journey. Life is hard, no-one said it would ever be easy, but we are working towards THE ultimate goal. God's kingdom. Don't stray from the path, my friends :)
and I'm feeling good
Welcome, folks, to Light of a New Day. This blog project was started back in 2010 by Jake and Sydnee. Over the years, several others have left their mark, by contributing articles, their time, and love for Christ. The blog has went through some dry spells, because - let's face it - we all have moments where posting happy thoughts isn't quite possible. For Jake and Syd both, someone shot the bird dead out of the sky. Unfortunately for them, that bird was a phoenix - and baby, it's back. What you can expect are posts. Maybe not regular, and maybe not all of them will be happy. This phoenix is an honest phoenix, life isn't perfect - and people need to stop acting and teaching like it is. This is Light of a New Day. a REAL day. If you have any thoughts or comments, would like to drop us a contribution, or would like to join our team - drop me a line at trun4rth@yahoo.com
