and I'm feeling good

Welcome, folks, to Light of a New Day. This blog project was started back in 2010 by Jake and Sydnee. Over the years, several others have left their mark, by contributing articles, their time, and love for Christ. The blog has went through some dry spells, because - let's face it - we all have moments where posting happy thoughts isn't quite possible. For Jake and Syd both, someone shot the bird dead out of the sky. Unfortunately for them, that bird was a phoenix - and baby, it's back. What you can expect are posts. Maybe not regular, and maybe not all of them will be happy. This phoenix is an honest phoenix, life isn't perfect - and people need to stop acting and teaching like it is. This is Light of a New Day. a REAL day. If you have any thoughts or comments, would like to drop us a contribution, or would like to join our team - drop me a line at trun4rth@yahoo.com

Oops!

Oops! My schedule already caught up with me! Now I'm back in school and still working nightshift at the state hospital so I always lose track of what day it is, so even though I FEEL like I posted yesterday, it was actually Monday. Whoops! I'll try to remember to take this all into account and post every day. Sorry! So now... My blog for today... This has been weighing on my mind lately. Why do we judge people? Human nature is no excuse. Seriously. Why do we think that we have the right to just look at someone and think we automatically know all about them? For example... my friend is 23 and her boyfriend is 47. They are happy together. Is that a bad thing? Why does that age matter? Or DOES it matter? Why do you pass judgement first thing? Is there something wrong with their relationship? What makes it right or wrong? Also... I just pierced my nose and put a bar in my ear. Does that mean that suddenly I'm a bad person? What about tattoos? What about being in a sorority? I'm in a sorority. Does that mean that I go out and party and drink and haze and sleep around. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So why does it matter? And why should we care what other people think? Why can't people just accept us for who we are? Why can't we just try to get to KNOW people before we judge them? You don't know everything about anything, ESPECIALLY people and their lives. So why not just accept them and love them for who they are and quit judging?! Please? Because anyone who judges me based on my looks has a lot of surprises in store for them.

We should never judge anybody, God said we will be judged in the same manner that we judge others. But when it comes to morals, we must be very careful as to how we conduct ourselves. For example, we do not judge a gay person saying "he is going to go to hell." I personally believe that homosexuality is imoral, and I judge homosexuality as being wrong, but I do not judge the person.

I don't think getting a piercing is at all immoral. But it just gets us thinking how careful we need to be before judging anything, and what is actually moral or not.
May God be our judge in all things :-)
